The goal of palliative care in pediatric cancer patients is to improve the well-being of the patient and their family throughout the illness, as well as reduce physical, emotional and spiritual suffering. Within the framework of the Global Initiative against Childhood Cancer, PAHO offers a series of modules on pediatric palliative care for mothers, fathers and caregivers. Each one contains essential information to be able to provide the best care and satisfy the needs derived from the disease that affect both the patient and their loved ones. This module addresses symptom management in pediatric palliative care. To guarantee the quality of life of minors with cancer, adequate control of the symptoms that cause suffering is necessary, such as pain, fever, respiratory distress, constipation, urinary retention or lack of appetite. In this sense, it offers information on what you should know and useful advice to act appropriately. Quality of Life for Children with Cancer: A series of modules on pediatric palliative care.
