The goal of palliative care in pediatric cancer patients is to improve the well-being of the patient and their family throughout the course of the illness, as well as to reduce physical, emotional, and spiritual suffering. As part of the Global Initiative Against Childhood Cancer, PAHO offers a series of modules on pediatric palliative care for mothers, fathers, and caregivers. Each module contains essential information to provide the best care and meet the needs arising from the illness that affect both the patient and their loved ones. This module addresses general issues related to what pediatric palliative care is and how to approach it, who is responsible for providing it, who it is aimed at, how it will benefit those involved, and whether it is only appropriate at the end of the patient's life. Quality of Life for Children with Cancer: A series of modules on pediatric palliative care. General Information about pediatric palliative care; Module 1.
