Resumo
This year's report presents an update on the situation of food security and nutrition in Latin America and the Caribbean, also including updated estimates on the cost and affordability of a healthy diet (Part 1). In addition, the report examines the region's complex economic and social landscape and its impact on the cost of healthy diets, before providing an examination of the cost and affordability of a healthy diet at the subregional and national levels, including the associations between unaffordability of a healthy diet and socioeconomic and nutritional indicators (Part 2). In addition, this edition of the Regional Panorama presents an analysis of some food and agricultural policies that are being implemented in the region and that have the potential to support access to healthy diets, as well as the factors and dynamics through which they act.
