Fiebre amarilla en la Región de las Américas: Manejo del inventario de reserva de vacunas (26 mayo 2022)

Abstract
En 2022, hasta la semana epidemiológica (SE) 18, se han notificado casos confirmados de fiebre amarilla en tres países de la Región: Bolivia (5 casos confirmados), Brasil (3 casos confirmados) y Perú (2 casos confirmados). La Organización Panamericana de la Salud/Organización Mundial de la Salud (OPS/OMS) alienta a los Estados Miembros con áreas de riesgo para la fiebre amarilla a que continúen sus esfuerzos para fortalecer la vigilancia en las áreas endémicas de fiebre amarilla, además de inmunizar a la población riesgo y tomar las acciones necesarias para mantenerla informada y vacunar a los viajeros que se dirijan a las áreas donde se recomienda la vacunación contra la fiebre amarilla. De igual manera, la OPS/OMS recomienda a los Estados Miembros contar con reservas de vacunas, dependiendo de la disponibilidad de las mismas en el país, lo que permitirá responder a posibles brotes.
