Managing data is currently a basic requirement to have evidence to inform decision-making in the field of health. Therefore, it is necessary to design strategies that dominate the specialized lexicon so that the clinical information stored in computer systems can be used for multiple purposes, which is achieved through the representation of health data. This knowledge capsule explains this and other concepts, as well as the importance of term coding tools and their relationship with the digital transformation of public health.
