This fact sheet highlights the relationship between alcohol consumption and COVID-19. Heavy episodic drinking is considered a health risk for COVID-19, and alcohol is used by some to cope with difficult emotions that increased during the pandemic. In addition to outlining why alcohol should not be used as a coping mechanism to deal with stress, the fact sheet addresses misinformation about alcohol in relation to COVID-19 and provides recommendations about alcohol use during the pandemic.en_US
