Starting with some fast facts, this fact sheet moves on to explain the impacts of alcohol consumption on the human brain, and what people can do to protect their brain. It highlights both the immediate and long-term risks of alcohol use. These risks range from headaches and disturbed sleep through to dementia, depression, and suicide. The fact sheet lists five actions people can take to reduce these risks. It also provides a concise list of references.
