This fact sheet highlights the many health risks for women of alcohol consumption. In addition to the risks related to major causes of death, such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, liver diseases, and injuries, alcohol use can cause or exacerbate social, legal, medical, domestic, school, work, and financial problems. The fact sheet shows a picture of the female body surrounded by some examples of the over 200 health conditions related to drinking, and the risks for the unborn child.
