Abstract
[Introduction] The Secretariat of the Advisory Committee on Health Research (ACHR) convened the 40th Meeting of the Committee at the request of the Director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), Dr. Mirta Roses Periago, in order to examine the Organization’s technical cooperation geared to promoting research as well as the projects of the Research Promotion and Development Unit (HSS/RC), and to define the work agenda of the ACHR and the way in which it will support the Organization. This report summarizes the agenda, presentations, and comments made during the 40th Meeting of the PAHO/WHO Advisory Committee on Health Research and the recommendations made in its final session.
