The present Regional Plan for Pandemic Influenza Vaccination falls under the activities of PAHO’s technical cooperation with Member States of the Region to address a possible pandemic. One of the best prevention method is the administration of a vaccine specifically against the virus that causes the pandemic. Therefore, countries must be prepared to administer the vaccine, if necessary … The purpose of the present document is to provide PAHO technical cooperation to its Member States for the pandemic vaccination component, emphasizing both strengthening of seasonal vaccination and activities necessary for supporting the preparedness of Member States for vaccination against a pandemic strain.
