dc.description.abstract | Following is a summary of the influenza situation by sub-regions in the Region of the Americas. The situation of the Southern Cone subregion; which presents an earlier than expected influenza season is reported first; the situation for the other subregions with expected activity is then presented in alphabetical order. More detailed information on the situation of influenza and other respiratory viruses can be obtained from the PAHO/WHO Regional Influenza Update, published weekly, on the PAHO/WHO website at: www.paho.org/influenzareports. In the Southern Cone sub-region, increased influenza and severe‐acute respiratory infection (SARI) activity were reported throughout the since epidemiological week (EW) 13 of 2019, with a predominance of influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 in most of the countries. dc.description.abstract | A continuación, se presenta un resumen de la situación de influenza por subregiones en la Región de las Américas. La situación de la subregión del Cono Sur; la cual presenta una temporada de influenza anterior a la esperada se informa primero; la situación de las otras subregiones con actividad esperada se presenta luego por orden alfabético de la subregión. Se puede obtener información más detallada sobre la situación de influenza y otros virus respiratorios en la Actualización Regional de Influenza de la Organización Panamericana de la Salud / Organización Mundial de la Salud (OPS/OMS), publicada semanalmente, en el sitio web de la OPS/OMS en: www.paho.org/reportesinfluenza. En la subregión del Cono Sur, se notificó una mayor actividad de influenza e infección respiratoria aguda (IRAG) en toda la subregión desde la semana epidemiológica (SE) 13 de 2019, con predominio de influenza A(H1N1) pdm09 en la mayoría de los países.
