On 3 August 2003, the Ministry of Health of El Salvador reported a cumulative number of 56,847 cases of pneumonia and 312 deaths associated with pneumonia. In Epidemiological Week (EW) 31 (ending on 2 August 2003) 6,453 cases of pneumonia were detected (138 more than what was registered the previous week), with an average of 921 daily cases. Al 3 de agosto de 2003, el Ministerio de Salud del Salvador ha informado la ocurrencia de 56.847 casos acumulados de neumonía y 312 defunciones asociadas. En la semana epidemiológica 31 del 2003 (que finalizó el 2 de agosto) se detectaron 6.453 casos de neumonía (138 más que lo registrado la semana anterior) con un promedio de 921 casos diarios.
