Epidemiological Alert, Update on Dengue Situation in the Americas (18 March 2011)

Abstract

The high activity of dengue during the first trimester of 2011 in several countries in the southern hemisphere in the Region of the Americas has necessitated the rapid implementation of management plans on both the local and national levels. This allows for an opportunity to reiterate the importance of the Integrated Management Strategy for the prevention and control of dengue (IMS-Dengue).

La intensa actividad que ha tenido el dengue durante el primer trimestre de 2011 en varios países del hemisferio sur de la Región de las Américas ha hecho necesaria la pronta implementación de planes de control locales y nacionales. Constituye esta una oportunidad para remarcar la importancia de la Estrategia de Gestión Integrada para la prevención y control de dengue (EGI- Dengue).
