Abstract
Gonorrhea is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in the world. The WHO estimates there are 88 million cases annually. The infection is caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae, transmitted through unprotected sexual relations and can affect various organs.
 
La gonorrea es una infección de transmisión sexual (ITS), considerada como una de las más frecuentes en el mundo, con 88 millones de casos anuales estimados por la OMS1;. La infección es causada por Neisseria gonorrhoeae, transmitida a través de relaciones sexuales sin protección y puede afectar varios órganos.
