The objective of this alert is to present the current epidemiological situation of the cholera outbreak in Haiti and the Dominican Republic updated as of Epidemiological Week (EW) 6, 2011. The information that is presented in this alert has been provided by the Ministère de la Sante Publique et de la Population (MSPP) of Haiti and by the Dominican Republic Ministry of Health. Desde el inicio del brote de cólera en la SE 421 de 2010 a la SE 6 de 2011, el MSPP de Haití registró un total de 233.227 casos de cólera de los cuales 53,9% (125.763) requirieron hospitalización2 y el 1,9% (4.528) fallecieron (tasa global de letalidad).
