Epidemiological Alert, Update on Dengue Situation in the Americas (15 November 2010)

Abstract

During the current year, in several countries in the region has registered a total number of cases of which exceeded the historical data record on dengue. Therefore, it emphasizes the importance of continuing interventions aimed to the elimination of potential and habitual breeding sites of Aedes aegypti. The purpose of this alert is to call upon the countries throughout the Region to undertake sustainability plans for its activities under the Integrated Management Strategies for the Dengue Prevention and Control (EGI-Dengue), involving other government and / or nongovernmental actors and mainly to the community to maintain.

Durante el presente año, en varios países de la Región se ha registrado un número total de casos que sobrepasaron los datos históricos de dengue registrados. Por ello, se enfatiza la importancia de continuar con las intervenciones orientadas a la eliminación de criaderos potenciales y habituales del Aedes aegypti. El propósito de esta alerta es hacer un llamado a los países de toda la Región a que realicen planes de sostenibilidad a las actividades previstas en sus Estrategias de Gestión Integrada para la prevención y control del dengue (EGI-dengue), involucrando a otros actors gubernamentales y/o no gubernamentales y sobre todo a la comunidad para mantener:
