On November 22, 2011, the United States of America - International Health Regulation National Focal Point (USA IHR-NFP) reported a cluster of cases of human infection with influenza virus A (H3N2)v1. Subsequently, between December of 2011 and July of 2012, 12 additional cases were reported. As of August 10, 2012, the total number of confirmed cases of influenza A (H3N2)v increased to 1532 most of them detected in two states of the United States. El 22 de noviembre de 2011, el Centro Nacional de Enlace (CNE) para el RSI(2005) de los Estados Unidos notificó la detección de un conglomerado de infección humana por el virus de influenza A (H3N2)v1. Posteriormente, entre diciembre de 2011 y julio de 2012 se detectaron 12 casos adicionales. Hasta el 10 de agosto de 2012, el número total de casos confirmados por infección del virus influenza A (H3N2)v en los Estados Unidos ascendió a 1532, la mayor parte de los casos se registraron en dos estados del país.
