| dc.description.abstract | In October 2015 the Brazil Ministry of Health reported an unusual increase in cases of microcephaly in the state of Pernambuco, located in the northeast of Brazil. On average, the state of Pernambuco registered 10 cases of microcephaly per year. However, since the beginning of 2015 through 11 November 2015, there were 141 cases of microcephaly detected in 44 of the 185 municipalities of the state of Pernambuco. | en_US |

En promedio, en este estado se registraban 10 casos de microcefalia por año. Sin embargo, desde inicio de este año hasta el 11 de noviembre de 2015 se detectaron 141 casos de microcefalia en 44 de los 185 municipios del estado de Pernambuco. | es_ES |
