Abstract
Since epidemiological week (EW) 1 of 2016 until EW 27, a total of 22,556 cholera cases have been recorded from three countries in the Americas: Ecuador (1), Haiti (21,661), and the Dominican Republic (894). Haiti alone registered 96% of the total cases in 2016 in the Region of the Americas. Table 1 shows the number of reported cholera cases in the Americas during 2015 and table 2 shows the cholera cases reported in selected countries from 2010 to 2016.
 
Desde la semana epidemiológica (SE) 1 del 2016 a la (SE) 27 de 2016, se registraron 22.556 casos de cólera en tres países en las Américas: Ecuador (1), Haití (21.661) y República Dominicana (894). Es decir, Haití registró el 96 % del total de casos notificados durante el 2016 en la Región de las Américas. La tabla 1 muestra el número de casos de cólera notificados en las Américas durante el 2015, y la tabla 2 los casos reportados en países seleccionados entre 2010 y el 2016.
