Between epidemiological week (EW) 1 and EW 37 of 2018, three countries in the Region of the Americas (Colombia, Haiti, and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela) have reported confirmed cases of diphtheria. While in Colombia no new cases have been detected (since July 2018), in Haiti and Venezuela the outbreaks are ongoing. Entre la semana epidemiológica (SE) 1 y la SE 37 de 2018, tres países de la Región de las Américas (Colombia, Haití, y la República Bolivariana de Venezuela) notificaron casos confirmados de difteria. Mientras en Colombia no se detectaron nuevos casos de difteria (desde julio de 2018), en Haití y en Venezuela el brote continúa activo.
