[Preface - Dr. Mirta Roses]. In the sphere of health, women are far from able to meet their reproductive health needs; smoking is a risk factor for adolescents of both sexes; obesity is more prevalent in women than men; and women engage in less physical activity than men. It is also important to point out that mortality from external causes is still seen primarily in men: the indicators for mortality from accidents and homicides reveal an overrepresentation of male mortality, and we know that this is a highly preventable problem. This brochure is a tool whose information is an incentive to continue joining forces to compile data disaggregated by variables that will enable us to understand the situation of women and men throughout their lives, in all their diversity and specific contexts. That is how to guarantee that equitable, efficient, and inclusive decisions, based on information, will be made.
