Between January 2016 and 13 March 2018, seven countries and territories of the Region of the Americas reported confirmed cases of yellow fever: the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Peru, and Suriname. The number of human cases and epizootics collectively reported in this period in the Region of the Americas is the highest observed in decades. Since the 16 February 2018 Epidemiological Update on Yellow Fever1 published by the Pan American Health Organization / World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), Brazil and Peru had reported new yellow fever cases; following is a summary of the situation in both countries. Entre enero de 2016 y el 13 de marzo de 2018, siete países y territorios de la región de las Américas notificaron casos confirmados de fiebre amarilla: El Estado Plurinacional de Bolivia, Brasil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana Francesa, Perú y Suriname. Durante este periodo se notificó el mayor número de casos humanos y epizootias registradas en la Región de las Américas en varias décadas. Desde la última Actualización Epidemiológica de Fiebre Amarilla publicada por la Organización Panamericana de la Salud / Organización Mundial de la Salud (OPS/ OMS) el 16 de febrero de 20181, Brasil y Perú han notificado casos nuevos de fiebre amarilla. A continuación, se presenta un resumen de la situación en ambos países.
