Methodology for the evaluation of missed opportunities for vaccination

Vaccination is an everyday activity in public health, and is understood as a dynamic system in which supply and demand are interrelated and in which the satisfaction of a population with identified needs depends on the behavior of both users and providers of vaccination services. Interactions between users and providers require that users recognize a need for vaccines and seek service and that providers offer vaccines under the technical, logistical, and operational conditions that ensure efficient, high-quality service [...] The purpose of the manual is to provide a standardized tool for planning, implementing, and evaluating missed opportunities of vaccination, so that corrective interventions can be designed to achieve and maintain uniform vaccination coverage across different localities.
