dc.description.abstractThis is a report of the results of the Diabetes Prevalence Study, Phase I, of the U.S.–Mexico Border Diabetes Prevention and Control Project, a unique study that considered the border area of the United States and Mexico as an epidemiologic unit. The study included a representative sample of the border population from both sides with the same methodology. It provided valuable information on the prevalence of diabetes, characteristics of those affected, and the risk factors.en_US
