Abstract
[Apresentação]. Nos últimos anos, através da Série de Estudos de Caso do PMM, a Organização Pan-Americana da Saúde/Organização Mundial da Saúde teve a honra de retratar os notáveis avanços na cobertura dos serviços de saúde, bem como no acesso da população à atenção primária em saúde, sempre impulsionados pelo trabalho dos médicos que compõem o programa. Este Estudo de Caso traz à tona a visão de uma equipe de pesquisadores, cuja formação é uma mescla de cientistas sociais e profissionais de saúde, sobre os diversos aspectos operativos nos quais os profissionais abordados se apoiam para produzir os bons resultados em saúde sobre a população dos municípios estudados.
