Distinguished Humanitarian Award Dr. Mirta Roses Periago whereas was the first woman to be selected to head the oldest Public Health Organization in the world. Whereas Dr. Roses was the first citizen of the country of Argentina to be selected as head of the Pan American Health Organization; Whereas Dr. Roses has risen as a door-to-door immunizer to vigorously commit PAHO to improve the health and quality of life of the poor, the homeless and the sick in the countries of South America and the Caribbean; Whereas, Dr. Roses continues to demonstrate unreserved dedication to the arrest and prevention of HIV/AIDS in The Americas; Therefore, the Board of Directors of the Fédération Internacionale des Podologues takes great pride in being able to honor you as the recipient of its Distinguished Humanitarian Award.
