dc.description.abstractThis presentation summarizes the principal results of studies on the status of health research in Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, México, and Venezuela that were conducted by research groups in those countries, and also briefly assesses health research output in Chile based on a review of the published literature. The initiative for these studies arose out of a PAHO/WHO line of technical cooperation seeking to strengthen the processes involved in formulating national policies on health-related research and technological developmenten_US
