The Strategy and Plan of Action for the Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV and Congenital Syphilis approved in 2010 in Resolution CD50.R12 of the 50th Directing Council by the Member States of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) establishes the goal of eliminating mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) of HIV and congenital syphilis by 2015. This document reports on the progress made toward elimination between 2010 and 2014 [...] This document reports the progress made toward eliminating MTCT of HIV and syphilis between 2010 and 2014. The results presented can help those responsible for policies, programs, and health workers in their efforts to achieve the elimination of MTCT in the Americas.
