Abstract
El presente trabajo centra su atención en las diferencias de mortalidad en Latinoamérica por enfermedades no transmisibles del adulto, según el nivel socioeconómico. Los planteamientos propuestos están basados exclusivamente en la información publicada. La intención es promover el debate y estimular la investigación sobre algunos interrogantes como los siguientes: existen en América Latina las mismas diferencias de mortalidad según el nivel socioeconómico que las notificadas en Norteamérica y en Europa? Si estas diferencias existen, cuáles son las medidas concretas que pueden ponerse en práctica para eliminar o contrarrestar las causas?
