The author contends that rehabilitation is as much a part of the general problem of the tuberculous patient as are diagnosis and treatment; that without rehabilitation, the last state in dealing with the pathological process, diagnosis and treatment have little sense, since the time and money spent in diagnosis and treatment is of no benefit to the public at large or the patient himself if he is going to suffer a relapse when returned to the environment in which he contracted the disease, with even fewer means of defending his life and living. The author holds that rehabilitation must begin the moment the patient enters the hospital
