The author presents the results of the tuberculin testing of 103,949 persons, the BCG vaccination of 68,018 persons, and the diagnosis of 647 cases of tuberculosis, most of which had been under ambulatory treatment; 9 percent of the cases abandoned treatment. Lethality was 1.7 percent. The results of a coordinated program against communicable diseases show that in five months it was possible to achieve the goals established for six months, and to give 35 percent and 46.4 percent respectively, of all DPT and smallpox vaccinations performed by health agencies in the country. This paper also give the results of the 1963 and 1964 leprosy control program devoted to case-finding in the remotest areas of the country; initially mobile units were used but at present an integrated team trained to seek out persons with skin lesions is operating
