Innoculation of a vaccine of HPV-77 strain of an attenuated German measles virus in cellular tissue of a duck embryo brought about the appearance of satisfactory antibody levels in more than 97 of 524 children, who had been seronegative initially, with an average titer of 58.7 The vaccine did not produce any appreciable side effects and only caused benign symptoms in a reduced number of vaccinated children The evidence obtained in this study indicates that the vaccine virus did not spread naturally among the susceptible population which was subject to close intrafamily contact with the vaccinated children(AU)
