A study was made of the nitrogen balance of a mixed cotton seed and rice flour diet in babies who were recuperating from malnutrition In comparison with a diet of cow's milk or mother's milk, the biological value and the index of vegetable mixture utilization were inferior Since vegetable mixtures can be given to children in the form of a thin gruel, and since a gruel made of corn flour or rice flour is the customary diet of numerous children, it is important to ascertain whether a mixture of these two flours with the flour derived from cotton seed possess sufficient biological value to assure the same rate of recovery as is obtained when malnourished children are fed with cow's milk or mother's milk(AU)
