The absence of nutrition training in the schools of Central America and Panama is explained by a vicious circle in which nutrition is not taught for want of teachers trained in the subject and the teachers are not trained because no program exists. It is up to the planners to break this circle by preparing nutrition curricula relevant to the needs and resources of each country and compatible with its education laws.
