Abstract

The Carib Territory is on its way to meeting the MDGs. It has achieved many targets such as MDGs 2, 3, 4, and 5 and is beginning to tackle other targets such as MDGs 1, 6, 7, and 8. However, one of the country’s and the territory’s weakness is the lack of data for many of the indicators. This limitation makes it very difficult to understand the scope and depth of the realities within the territory and to document the progress or regression towards the completion of the MDGs. In addition to the original eight MDGs, the territory has identified many issues that fall within the MDGs Plus category such as addiction, chronic diseases caused by lifestyle, violence, etc. Although the territory has a long way before meeting all of the MDGs, this achievement is possible with continued effort and commitment.
