As a matter of fact, this method was tried a few years ago in some of out best dairy herds. However, the improvement of these herds, so far as their quality and milk production were concerned, did not balance the losses from the elimination of large numbers of reacting animals Furthermore, no active protection against brucellosis was conferred to the remaining animals.
