From 1995 to 2007, 29,584 cases of dengue were reported, including 193 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever and 9 deaths from dengue; During this period, dengue serotypes DEN-1, 2, and 3 were in circulation, in different combinations. Up to Epidemiological Week / EW 52 of 2008, a total of 3,004 dengue cases were reported, including 44 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever and one death, with the serotype DEN-1 predominating. From the first week of 2009, an increase in the number of cases of classic dengue was reported, a disease trend that had been increasing since EW 48 in 2008. During the second week of January 2009, cases were registered in four departments of the country (Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Cochabamba, Beni y Pando). In relation to the same period in 2008, there is a tenfold increase in the number of cases De 1995 al 2007, se reportaron 29,584 casos de dengue incluyendo 193 casos de dengue hemorrágico y 9 muertes por dengue, circulando a lo largo de ese período los serotipos del dengue, DEN 1, 2 y 3 en diferentes combinaciones. Hasta la Semana Epidemiológica (SE) 52 del 2008, se reportaron 3,004 casos totales de dengue, incluyendo 44 casos de dengue hemorrágico y una defunción. Predominó circulación de DEN 1. Desde la primera semana del año 2009, se detectó un aumento de casos de dengue clásico, comportamiento que venía en aumento desde la semana 48 del año 2008 (véase el Gráfico No.1). Para la segunda semana de enero de 2009 se registraban casos en 4 departamentos del país (Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Cochabamba, Beni y Pando). En relación al mismo periodo del año 2008, los casos se incrementaron 10 veces
