In the Region of the Americas, between epidemiological week (EW) 1 and EW 44 of 2018, a total of 446,150 cases of dengue were reported (incidence of 45.9 cases per 100,000 population), including 240 deaths. Of the total cases, 171,123 were laboratory-confirmed and 2,164 (0.49%) were classified as severe dengue. Entre la semana epidemiológica (SE) 1 y la SE 44 de 2018 en la Región de las Américas se notificaron 446,150 casos de dengue (incidencia de 45,9 por 100.000 habitantes), incluidas 240 defunciones. De esos, 171.123 fueron confirmados por criterios de laboratorio. Del total de casos reportados, 2.164 (0,49%) fueron clasificados como dengue grave.
