Between epidemiological week (EW) 1 and EW 30 of 2018, three countries in the Region of the Americas (Colombia, Haiti, and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela) have reported confirmed diphtheria cases. In 2017, four countries in the Region (Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela) had reported confirmed diphtheria cases. Entre la semana epidemiológica (SE) 1 y la SE 30 de 2018, tres países (Colombia, Haití, y la República Bolivariana de Venezuela) notificaron casos confirmados de difteria; mientras que en 2017 cuatro países de la Región (Brasil, Haití, la República Bolivariana de Venezuela y la República Dominicana) notificaron casos confirmados de difteria.
