The Dominican Republic received technical cooperation from PAHO / WHO since the early 50s. In 1964 this cooperation, with the opening of a representative office in the country and the appointment of the first Representative, is formalized. Technical cooperation of the representative office of PAHO / WHO in the Dominican Republic is aimed at the following lines: Systems development and health services; Prevention and control of diseases; Social determinants, sustainable development and environmental health; Health promotion throughout the life cycle; Emergencies and disasters; Leadership and management.
