A description is given of several cases of malaria that occurred in a locality outside the malarious area that were classified as induced malaria. Had those cases not occurred outside a malarious area the incident would hardly have been noticed as, without an epidemiological investigation, neither the hospital centers nor the Blood Banks would have detected them or suspected their origin, because of confusion with autochthonous cases in the same locality In order to prevent such accidents, measures are suggested for adoption by the Blood Banks, and appropriate therapeutics are recommended in the event induced malaria occurs(AU)
