An outbreak of poliomyelitis at Palmira, Colombia from November, 1945 to January, 1946, caused 19 cases, all of them in children under six years, and 17 of which are reviewed here. There were two deaths among the 17 cases traced. Seven cases were in boys, 9 in girls, and 2 in infants under 1 year. Six cases were in the urban districts, 4 in suburban areas and 7 in rural sections. No conclusions were reached as to the mode of spread of the disease but fly prevalence was most marked and recommendations were made for its control(AU)
