CD42.(D1):   

Three delegates, from Chile, Jamaica, and Paraguay, respectively, were appointed to the Committee on Credentials.

CD42.(D2):   

Grenada (Hon. Dr. Clarice Modeste-Curwen) was elected to the Presidency, Mexico (Mr. José Antonio González Fernández) and Paraguay (Dr. Martín Antonio Chiola Villagra), to the Vice Presidencies, and Brazil (Dr. Denise Costa Coitinho), to the office of Rapporteur.

Three delegates, from Canada, Haiti, and Venezuela, respectively, were elected to the Working Party.

The Directing Council took note of the Annual Report, 1999, of the Director of the Pan American Sanitary Bureau.

The Directing Council took note of the report of the President of the Executive Committee on the activities of the Committee and its various subcommittees in the period between September 1999 and September 2000.

The Directing Council took note of Financial Report of the Director and Report of the External Auditor for the period 1998-1999.

The Directing Council took note of the report of the External Auditor on strategic planning, monitoring, and evaluation in PAHO.

CD42.(D10):   

The Directing Council took note of and endorsed the recommendation of the General Committee (Second Report) to request the Executive Committee, at its 127th session, to place an item on the agenda of the 128th session of the Executive Committee (June 2001) on the mechanisms for electing the Governing Bodies and other representative bodies of the Pan American Health Organization, and to invite Venezuela to make a presentation to the Committee at that time.

CD42.(D11):   

Brazil was elected to the Management Advisory Committee of the WHO Drug Action Program for a three-year term beginning 1 January 2001.

CD42.(D12):   

Argentina was elected to the Joint Coordinating Board of the UNDP/World Bank/WHO Special Program for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases for a three-year term beginning 1 January 2001.

CD42.(D13):   

Chile and Panama were elected to the Policy and Coordination Committee of the WHO Special Program of Research, Development, and Research Training in Human Reproduction for a three-year term beginning 1 January 2001.

Barbados was elected to designate a representative to the International Coordination Council of the Pan American Institute for Food Protection and Zoonoses (INPPAZ) for a three-year term beginning 1 January 2001.
